SAMANTHA OTTIMO – LEARNING TO SAY NO
Growth Stories is proud to feature Samantha Ottimo!
Samantha is a 21-year-old student athlete at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. She has faced the challenge of transferring colleges at a young age, and was bold enough to follow her heart during her journey. The decision to leave a full scholarship in order to be mentally and physically happy again has helped her realize that she should not be pushed into a specific direction by others. She has learned to say no, and has let go of a chapter in her life to start a brand new one! She is now experiencing an amazing college experience while still being able to be a student athlete on a lacrosse team.
Although it can be useful to seek advice from others, remind yourself that other people don’t necessarily know what is best for you. In the end, trust that you have the knowledge you need to make the decision that’s right for you.
“The heart has reasons that reason does not understand.” – Blaise Pascal
